Trevor: The Musical is the beautiful story of a boy named Trevor.
According to the description on Playbill, the show follows "13-year-old Trevor, as he struggles to navigate his own identity and to determine how he fits in a challenging world on a journey of self-discovery."
Now, the show is seeking a larger audience, as Trevor: The Musical makes its way to the streaming service Disney+ today, June 24, 2022.
The performance now streaming on Disney+ is not a movie version of the musical. It is, instead, a recording of the well-loved off-Broadway production of Trevor: The Musical that impressed crowds with its nightly performances at the ever iconic Stage 42.
Holden William Hagelberger takes on the title role in a production which will now and forever be immortalized in time.
This powerful story was first told in an Oscar-winning short film back in 1995. From that film, it was adapted to the stage.
Now it is making its way to the screen once again– only this time with a bit more music! It is facinating to see in the ever changing technological landscape the life cycle of a creative work, from stage to screen and back again.
