Despite seeming to be best friends on TV, the co-hosts of the "TODAY" show are apparently not in good terms.

An informant told The Sun that Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb couldn't stand each other off-camera.

They elaborated, "Savannah is in charge. Savannah took authority after Matt Lauer was fired, and she wanted Willy Geist to replace Hoda, but his numbers were just not up to the network's standards."

According to the source, Hoda outwitted Savannah Guthrie and won the slot.

Aside from that, the production insider claims Savannah considers herself a "serious news person," but Hoda is seen as the "lightweight who drank wine with Kathy Lee Gifford."

Savannah also served as the White Correspondent before taking over as host of the show, which explains why she admires Jenna Bush because her father, George W. Bush, was president, according to the insider.

While Jenna is Hoda Kotb's co-host, the source claims she plays both Jenna and Savannah.

In fact, the two are said to have "iced Hoda out."

"Jenna got the best position on TV despite having little experience-no one works people better than Jenna. She is an expert at the game."

On-Camera 'Fake' BFFs?

Savannah Guthrie co-anchored the show with Matt Lauer before he was dismissed, and Hoda Kotb afterwards took his position.

"All I know was at that moment, it felt like I could drown if Hoda hadn't reached down and grabbed my hand," Savannah said of the two women making history as the first pair of women to co-anchor the "TODAY" show.

She said, "I will always claim that she rescued the program. And holding her hand and saying, "We're going to do this together meant everything to me. I don't believe I have the confidence on my own."

Savannah's compliments didn't stop there, as she went on to laud Hoda and the "close" friendship and bond that both enjoy.

Hoda Kotb was also recently absent from the NBC show, which sparked concern among fans.

Savannah Guthrie co-hosted the show with Tom Llamas and Craig Melvin from "TODAY."

She addressed the absence of Hoda, informing supporters that her spouse was "off," but no additional reason was provided.

It's still best to take The Sun's report with a grain of salt because there's no proof that Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kobt are fighting.
