It sounds like Lea Michele is about to take the Broadway stage.

Since the revival of Funny Girl was announced, rumors have been flying about Lea Michele. The actress had been making her desire for the role of Fanny Brice public since she first started on Glee. However, the actress became somewhat notorious with accusations of inappropriate behavior behind the scenes. When it was announced that the revival was coming but she would not be taking on the part, people from all over the internet came together to discuss what Michele's presumed reaction would be.

Yet, shortly after the revival opened, it started looking more and more plausible that we would be seeing a return from the Broadway veteran. Suddenly, we were plunged into the world of the Lea Michele redemption arc (which, we CALLED by the way, thank you very much!) The original cast of Spring Awakening performed at the Tony Awards this year, the show in which Michele made her Broadway debut. Why drum up buzz about a sixteen year old show now? To get the world ready for the return of Lea Michele.

A source told Gawker that Michele was about to see her day as Fanny Brice. After the currently running Beanie Feldstein steps out of the show, reports state that Michele will step in. The former glee club star will perform six shows a week with Julie Benko taking on the remainder. Thus far, Gawker is the only other source that has confirmed these rumors. We are still waiting for further confirmation.
