Adele Stands By Her Decision to Postpone Her Las Vegas Residency – Even After 'Brutal' Backlash
Adele stands by the difficult decision that she made to postpone her Las Vegas residency.
From January 21st until the middle of April, world-class megatalent Adele was scheduled to have a residency at Caesar's Palace's Colosseum in Las Vegas. However, back in January, the iconic singer decided to postpone.
She made the call just twenty four short hours before it was set to begin. The star took to Instagram to tell her fans, with tears in her eyes, that she was simply not ready to perform her show. Due to the multiple delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, she felt it was not done enough.
Of course, this decision was met with a significant amount of backlash. Yet, after several months, the singer stands by it. In an interview with Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4, the singer shared her compromised emotional and mental state during that time and her following confidence in her choice.
"I thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn't, and I stand by that decision."
The backlash after the star made this decision, however, was far from kind. The singer shared it left her in a less than positive mental state.
"I was a shell of a person for a couple of months. I just had to wait it out and just grieve it, I guess, just grieve the shows and get over the guilt, but it was brutal."
We are so sorry that the star had to deal with this, but we are happy she stood by her decision that kept her own health in mind. Adele has stated that she will be rescheduling dates soon.
