It's A Fight For The Future In Netflix's 'Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie.' Check Out The New Trailer
The heroes on the half shell are back with the new trailer for their new Netflix animated film, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie.
Based on the two season animated series, this time around the pizza eating team must assemble in a fight for the future when hockey masked vigilante Casey Jones travels to the past to help the Turtles stop an alien invasion of the brain-shaped Krang and his evil cohorts.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are voiced by Ben Schwartz, Brandon Mychal Smith, Omar Benson Miller, and Josh Brenner, with the supporting cast being Kat Graham, Eric Bauza, Haley Joel Osment, Rhys Darby, and John Michael Higgins.
The official synopsis according to Netflix:
"Continuing the tale from the hit Nickelodeon series, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Donatello are back in action and up to their teenage antics in this comedic adventure that raises the stakes higher than ever before. The Turtles are put to the test when a mysterious stranger named Casey Jones arrives from the future to warn the mutant brothers of an impending invasion·of the most dangerous alien force in the galaxy - the Krang! Can the team rise up to become the heroes they are destined to be, or will their teenage foibles get the better of them? What unfolds is the most adventurous, emotional, and epic story ever told of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Another in a long line of spin-offs from the 1983 Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird comic book series, which was a slight spoof of Daredevil, this iteration is a hyper-stylized reboot of the characters. Off-putting, perhaps, for the old heads in the audience, this seems to be a more kid friendly version, which has kind of been the M.O. of the spin-offs over the years. Bright, manic, and goofy, this is a new evolution of the Turtles and seems to take the story in a new direction.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie will be hitting Netflix on August 5.
