Et tu, Brute? Julius Caesar is trending on Twitter right now, and, don't worry, there is no backstabbing involved. It honestly has us all feeling a little nostalgic.

A question was posed on Twitter asking the world what Shakespeare plays they studied during their time in school. The question read:

"Hi- I'm doing research for something. Tell me, by the time you'd graduated High School, how many of Shakespeare's plays (if any) had you studied, and which?

While the numbers certainly ranged from as few as one to as many as...well, more, there was one of Shakespeare's plays that seemed to really take the cake: Julius Caesar. It seems that this famous historical drama is a favorite of English teachers around the world. It's honestly a beautiful thing.

The world can feel really big, and somehow, in this year of 2022, we have found that the classic drama Julius Caesar has the power to connect us all. (Close seconds awarded to Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and Othello.) One Twitter user pointed out,

"The amount of people saying they read Julius Caesar is really giving me life right now because my expectation someone will understand me when I drop quotes into conversations has just skyrocketed."

Others have pointed out the hilarity of Julius Caesar trending today. One user posted, "Julius Caesar is trending with Juliet and Macbeth guys did Shakespeare die?" Another similarly posted, "Julius Caesar is trending...omg please don't be dead."

Anyone else feel like picking up Julius Caesar again? Well, we have to pick up new quotes for all of these Shakespearean based conversations we are going to be having!
