Prince Harry Memoir Update: Duke's Ghostwritten Book Will Not Be Released This Year?
The memoir of Prince Harry is scheduled to be published later this year, but fans of the former royal will be unhappy after it was speculated that it would not be published anytime soon.
The highly anticipated memoir is likely to discuss his time as a member of the royal family and to reopen old family wounds.
However, The Sun reported that the memoir was not on its publisher's list of planned publications to be released this year.
"If this book is coming out this year as anticipated, it should be on the publisher's marketing and promotional list - unless they're preparing a surprise or there's been a delay," a source said.
"Its absence has raised many suspicions in royal circles."
However, when the outlet requested a response from Transworld, a division of Penguin Random House, they were told, "We don't put every book on the list, so there is nothing to infer from that."
The Duke of Sussex has been researching the book, which is being ghostwritten by Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist JR Moehringer.
The 37-year-old kept the contents of the book hidden, although he apparently notified his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, that he was working on it before it was released last year.
In a promotional statement, Royal Harry stated that he is writing it as "the man I have become," not as a prince.
After blasting his background and upbringing in a podcast last year, royal aides are thought to be concerned that it may generate even more negative headlines.
Camila Parker Bowles, his stepmother, is also expected to be mentioned in the biography. During their Oprah Winfrey interview, the two apparently had a rocky relationship.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, also disclosed alarming details about the royal family's treatment of them. Their interview strained numerous royal connections as they made racist claims and claimed they had been financially cut off.
The unnamed memoir is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2022.
However, a royal expert stated two months ago that Prince Harry's biography had been delayed so that "he may incorporate material on his visit to the UK" during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee festivities.
Rafe Heydel-Mankoo of "GB News" via Express UK speculated on whether the Duke would be reporting on his private chats with his grandmother.
"The more they remain in California, the less popular and famous they become, so they want that access."
