It looks like Mike Lowrey and Marcus Barnett are coming back for another buddy cop installment in the Bad Boys franchise.

While talking to Ebony, Martin Lawrence confirmed that Bad Boys 4 is going to happen saying,

"We got one more at least."

Bad Boys For Life from 2020 was the third and long-awaited installment in the series which began back in 1995 with action director Michael Bay. The film did well with critics and fans, garnering a box office gross of $420 million worldwide, which for a pandemic movie opening was very impressive, even with it being the first Bad Boys film to not have Bay at the helm.

The question still remains about Will Smith's involvement in the project, given his "slap heard around the world" incident with Chris Rock at this year's Oscars. Deadline spoke with Sony Chairman Tom Rothman about rumors that Smith's outburst has been the reason the film is taking so long to begin shooting:

"No. That was inaccurate. That movie's been in development and still is. There weren't any brakes to pump because the car wasn't moving.

"That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don't think it's really my place to comment, except to say that I've known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person. That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment, in front of the world. I believe his apology and regret is genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption."

There is no word on when Bad Boys 4 will be in theaters at this time.
