Busisiwe Lurayi's Fruitful Career

Lurayi famously has been part of the Netflix comedy series "How to Ruin Christmas" since 2020. The late actress played the role of "prodigal daughter" Tumi Sello who goes home for the holidays. Unfortunately, she ruins her sister's wedding plans, so she has to fix everything before it is too late.

The official synopsis reads: "A reluctant bridesmaid to the core, Tumi arrives the day before her sister's traditional wedding day and manages to upset almost everyone. Can she make it through this holiday family reunion without running it completely?"

She returned for the second season of the show in December 2021, titled "How to Ruin Christmas: The Funeral." It was released with four episodes.

For this year, she was about to star in the next season after Netflix confirmed its renewal in June. The third season, "How to Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower," was reportedly in production at the time of posting.

Her role in the series led her to earn the SAFTA Golden Horn Award for Best Actress in a TV comedy in 2021. She scored the same award in 2006 for starring in "City Ses'la."

Her other credits included, "Sokhulu and Partners II," "Vutha," and "S.I.E.S."
