‘Thor’ BTS: Chris Hemsworth’s Sweet Gesture Before Kissing Natalie Portman, Revealed
Marvel's "Thor: Love and Thunder" was a success to fans as it brought a whopping $143 million during its opening weekend. More recently, stars from the superhero film are sharing behind the scene moments that they never revealed to the public before.
In an interview with Capital FM in the United Kingdom, Natalie Portman revealed that her co-star Chris Hemsworth made a big move for her before filming their kissing scene.
The "Black Swan" star said that the Australian actor didn't eat meat on the day of their kiss because she's practicing a vegan lifestyle.
"He's really nice. The day we had a kiss scene he didn't eat meat that morning because I'm vegan. And he eats meat like every half hour," she said. (via Variety)
The actress added that Hemsworth was "so thoughtful" for his move because it wasn't something that she was "angry" or concerned about.
Co-star Tessa Thompson chimed in to crack a joke, saying, "I didn't even know he could go without eating meat. He's just like eating bison in the morning. That's so sweet."
According to PETA, Portman has been a vegetarian since she was 9 years old. She fully ditched any food products with meat and went vegan in 2011.
Not only does she practice the lifestyle, but also uses her big platform to speak out against animal cruelty.
Per Us Weekly Magazine, the "V for Vendetta" actress went vegan when she was pregnant with her first child.
At the time, she read the book "Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer which helped her realize many things about her pregnancy and the food she was intaking.
"I became vegan after reading the book, and you know, [I have] been able to find over the years really great products," she told the outlet.
Portman isn't the only person in her family who's practicing veganism as her children Aleph and Amalia also followed in her footsteps in having a healthy lifestyle.
The actress explained that their switch of diet came naturally because everyone tends to eat the same thing for dinner and they got used to it.
"We tend to eat vegan and vegetarian food in the house. It becomes like the normal stuff that kids get used to," she added.
However, her husband Benjamin Millepied isn't a vegan and there were times that their children asked why their dad is eating meat but their mom doesn't.
