After announcing their exit from senior royal roles, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle inked a million-dollar contract with Netflix.

They struck an agreement with the streaming giant in September 2020 to develop original content such as movies, series, documentaries, and children's programming in collaboration with their firm, Archewell Productions.

According to Us Weekly, the couple was offered around $100 million for the agreement.

However, since the announcement, just one documentary series, "Heart of Invictus," has been created. It will cover stories of resilience and athletes on their path to this year's Invictus Games The Hague.

The title "Pearl" was also announced as part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's release, but it was canceled earlier this year.

Though Netflix paid almost a hundred million dollars to get them to share exclusive material on their platform, a royal expert believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are just handing Oprah Winfrey free content, especially after their shocking interview with her.

"They've told her a lot," Angela Mollard told "Sunrise" in Australia. "So, what exclusivity does Netflix have if they collaborate on a documentary?"

"I suppose if you were the CEO of Netflix, you would be wondering, 'are I getting my money's worth with these two?" she continued.

According to Mollard, narrating many documentaries will not provide Netflix with a good return on investment.

"There has to be brand alignment, and I don't think that's happening right now."

This comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are embroiled in a "scandal" over their "fly on the wall Netflix documentary."

During Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee festivities this month, the parents of two reconnected with senior members of the Royal Family for the first time since their departure in March 2020.

Their Netflix intentions were dashed, however, as Buckingham Palace staff barred Prince Harry and Meghan from photographing Her Majesty.

According to royal expert Russell Myers, aides were opposed to photos despite assertions that they are working on a Netflix documentary.

He informed "TODAY" that the Queen met with Lilibet Diana, but "no official photography" took place. Nonetheless, sources stated that the Sussexes brought along a photographer friend to pose with the Queen.

"Of course, that would have been a beautiful family moment," the royal expert added, "but the palace was emphatic that it couldn't happen."

"You can't blame them because Harry and Meghan are still supposed to be working on a Netflix documentary. It's all getting a little out of hand."
