With all of the mystique surrounding the Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie as the blonde doll come to life, fans have been wondering what exactly this adaptation of the popular Mattel property is all about. Well, Ken, himself, actor Ryan Gosling might just have some answers.

Sort of.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima where Gosling was there to promote the new Netflix Russo Brothers action thriller The Gray Man, it was brought up that in the film co-star Chris Evans refers to Gosling's character as a "Ken Doll." Ryan was quick to laugh about the line, quipping that it:

"is not an insult at all! I'm proud of that...I have that Ken-ergy that you can feel, obviously."

The early set pictures of Barbie and Ken in their colorful outfits was next. In his dryly playful way he answered:

"That's nothing...I can't wait for people to see the film. It's not what you expect."

"That's all I can say, otherwise Mattel will come in and box me up."

In terms of which role he was in better shape for, Barbie or The Gray Man Gosling answered:

"That Ken life is even harder than the Gray Man life, I think."

When asked why, Gosling continued with his lighthearted deflecting:

"Ken's got no money, he's got no job, he's got no car, he's got no house. He's going through some stuff."

Whatever that stuff is, fans will more than likely be showing up for this more than mysterious movie. Barbie is now in production and is expected to strut into theaters on July 21, 2023.
