Singer-Songwriter David Crosby Tweets Mean Comments to a Fan: Twitter Springs to Artist's Defense

David Crosby has seen a portrait done of him by a fan, and he did not react kindly.
People look up to their favorite celebrities. Sometimes they will send them gifts. Sometimes, if the fan is an artist themselves, they will send creations to celebrate their artists. Most celebrities are incredibly gracious about this. This was not the case today.
DJBSackett took to Twitter posting a portrait he made of singer-songwriter David Crosby. He wrote:
"Hi @thedavidcrosby hope you are keeping well. Did a picture of you...Thanks for the music."
Attached, he put a portrait he did of Crosby.
If you ask us, it is really good. However, Crosby had a truly terrible reply.
He retweeted the picture, writing, "That is the weirdest painting of me. I have ever seen.... Don't quit your day job...."
That is the weirdest painting of me. I have ever seen …..don’t quit your day job …… https://t.co/3USbW4Qt7a

First of all, IT IS A REALLY GOOD PORTRAIT.
Second of all, many across the internet have come out pointing to the obvious: this is just downright mean. If you, a famous performer, feel the need to discourage another artist - one who has taken time out of their life to use their art to show you how much they admire your work - you need to re-examine yourself.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

You pass by a mirror lately? It’s their rendition but captures your likeness fairly well.

I think I’d focus on the time and effort they spent working on a piece with you in mind and be appreciative of them and the tribute they tried to pay you. pic.twitter.com/vCWGHyQBkB
BESIDES, he SHOULD have nice things to say! This picture rocks!
We are so sorry that DJBSackett had to deal with this. We hope he feels inspired by the positive voices rallying to his defense, rather than the one nay-sayer.
