YouTuber Kevin Samuels' cause of death has been determined months after he was found dead.

A report following the Fulton County Medical Examiner's autopsy (as shared by a news outlet) disclosed that Samuels died of hypertension. The medical examiner added that they found evidence of the health issue as the chambers of the YouTuber's heart were thicker than normal.

His cause of death came out as a shock, as it was previously listed as due to natural causes.

The same report also mentioned that they found Atenolol in his system. It is a beta-blocker that is prescribed to those who are suffering from hypertension.

Aside from the official cause, there was initially speculation that he probably died following foul play since he was with a mysterious woman at the time of his death.

But with the release of the autopsy report, it is safe to say that hypertension caused his tragic and fatal cardiac arrest.

How Did Kevin Samuels Die?

The release of the cause of death came months after NBC News confirmed his passing to the Atlanta Police Department. The authorities were called to an apartment due to an injured person.

However, the first responders were already performing CPR when the authorities came out.

They also found a woman in the apartment who told them that the YouTuber was experiencing chest pains prior to his death. The woman, who is reportedly a nurse, asked for a defibrillator after Samuels lost consciousness.

Complex noted that he was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, where he eventually died.

His mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch, expressed her dismay due to the rumors surrounding her son's death.

"That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn't even know. I hadn't even been notified. All I'm doing is requesting that people pray for us," the matriarch said.

Samuels was a highly controversial YouTuber who earned criticism due to his tendency on spreading "misogynistic" thoughts and beliefs on his channel. He also found himself in hot water for degrading women of color.

Among his works, his 2022 video "You're Average At Best," scored him the most spotlight. In the clip, he told a single 35-year-old Black mother to lower her expectations as she "think you're better than the men that you qualify for."

Outside YouTube, he garnered acting experience when he was tapped to appear on Donald Glover's "Atlanta." He also starred in Future's music video "Worst Day."
