‘High School Musical’ Reunion: Zac Efron Teases Possibility With THIS Cryptic Photo
Many fans were disappointed when Zac Efron didn't sing during 2020's "Disney Family Singalong" which was attended by almost all of the original cast members of "High School Musical." Recently, the actor shared a mysterious photo online hinting that a reunion could possibly happen in the future.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the "Hairspray" actor took to his official Instagram account to share an image of him outside East High, the popular school where the popular teenage musical trilogy were filmed.
"Don't you... Forget about me," he captioned the post, referencing the classic "The Breakfast Club" movie.
As of this writing, the 34-year-old star has not confirmed whether there will be a reunion or not, however, former co-star and ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens appeared to be in the same location last month.
In a video, the former Disney star walked towards the campus before turning around to the camera.
"Do you remember in kindergarten how you'd meet a kid and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you're playing like you're best friends because you didn't have to be anything but yourself?" she wrote in the caption.
Efron and Hudgens' careers skyrocketed after playing Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez in three "High School Musical" movies.
Republic World reported that the reason why the actor didn't attend the recording for the reunionis because of Hudgens.
The pair previously dated from 2005 to 2010.
Insiders revealed that the two are not talking to each other and it would have been hard to work together in that terms
The actor is currently single but his most recent relationship was with Vanessa Valladares from June 2020 to April 2021.
On the other hand, Hudgens is currently dating Cole Tucker.
Another reason was Efron had completely changed from the persona he used to be as he wanted to move on from being a sweet teenager character.
The three "HSM" film cast includes Efron, Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Gabreel.
The first movie revolved around Efron's Troy Bolton who fell in love with the nerdy and studious Gabriella Montez (Hudgens) at a karaoke party during winter.
Upon returning to school Gabriella attempted to audition for the upcoming school musical, but Sharpay Evans was jealous of her and did everything to make her struggle.
