David Warner, who starred in films including "Titanic" and "Tron," died at 80.

According to a news report, British actor, David Warner passed away on July 24, 2022 and it is confirmed by his family, with a broken heart, they announced on Monday, July 25, explaining that Warner died due to a cancer-related illness.

"Over the past 18 months he approached his diagnosis with a characteristic grace and dignity," his family said that "He will be missed hugely by us, his family and friends, and remembered as a kindhearted, generous, and compassionate man, partner, and father, whose legacy of extraordinary work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are heartbroken."

He died in Denville Hall in London, a care home facility for veterans of entertainment industry.

Emmy Awardee, Warner was born in Manchester in the year 1941. He started his career in 1962 and after a year, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. Tom Jones was the first screen movie character of David, it is a film adaptation of Henry Fielding's classic 1749 novel: The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling.

In 1965, RSC gave him a role as Shakespeare's prince a proto-student. In which he shared his thoughts about the role, "I thought surely kids today were the same as I was, not wanting Shakespeare shoved down their throats. I wanted to make them come back again, of their own free will."

Warner wasfeatured in a slew of films and TV series throughout the years, but modern fans may remember him best as "Spicer Lovejoy," the sidekick to Billy Zane's character, Cal Hockley in 1997's "Titanic."

In the "S.O.S. Titanic" TV movie, which was produced nearly 20 years ago, Warner played a real-life character named Lawrence Beesley, a teacher who managed to survive the shipwreck. Warner, then recalled about the show, "It was only years later I found out that, when I was working at Stratford-Upon-Avon, I was working with his grandson!"

The actor from "Penny Dreadful," who also played Admiral Boom in "Mary Poppins Returns" in 2018, made his final performance on a major motion picture. He appeared in one episode of the TNT drama "The Alienist" that same year.

David Warner was remarried twice but as revealed by his family, he survived with his partner Lisa Bowerman, Luke, his son and his daughter-in-law Sarah.
