The second part of the "Black Panther" franchise, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," has been therapeutic for the cast members, especially Lupita Nyong'o.

Marvel Studios decided to move forward without Boseman's character in the "Black Panther 2." Instead of making a CGI double, the executives decided to honor him instead in the film.

Nyong'o herself felt it, as filming the movie had been therapeutic for them.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday during the San Diego Comic-Con, the actress opened up the filming without the original lead actor.

"For us as a cast, having lost our king, Chadwick Boseman, that was a lot to process, and in many ways, we're still processing it. When you lose someone, I don't know when you stop missing them. And of course, we felt it so much, making this film without him," she said.

But even without him, they were able to make the movie in his honor. Thus, it was very comforting for the team to expand the "Black Panther" world that Boseman started.

Her reaction was similar to what Danai Gurira went through. She told Variety that it was hard not to get emotional on set as they always remember Boseman.

Their efforts paid off, though, as Marvel finally uncovered the first teaser trailer for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" on Saturday.

It serves as the latest "Black Panther" movie without Boseman after his death in August 2020.

Chadwick Boseman's Tragic Death

Boseman ultimately passed away after his private, four-year battle against colon cancer.

In a statement posted on his official Twitter account, it was revealed that Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016. It progressed through the years until it reached stage IV.

It was the reason why he looked thin on several occasions in the past.

In the months leading to his death, he already looked unwell when he attended the NBA All-Star Game and American Music Awards in 2019. Since he still seemed to be normal during those instances, his fans thought that he only toned his physique down since he was on a filming break.

Although he died, the Marvel family expressed their love for him, as well, when they marked his supposed 44th birthday by debuting a new opening credit for "Black Panther."

The 30-second clip presented a montage of Boseman's works as MCU's King T'Challa and Black Panther. The company also changed the Marvel logo into purple and shared the masterpiece with fans.
