Tony Dow's manager confirmed the actor's passing following an earlier confusion about his status.

After taking down the initial Facebook post about his death, Dow's manager released a new statement on his Facebook page on Wednesday confirming that the "Leave It To Beaver" actor passed away.

"We have received confirmation from Christopher, Tony's son, that Tony passed away earlier this morning, with his loving family at his side to see him through this journey. We know that the world is collectively saddened by the loss of this incredible man. He gave so much to us all and was loved by so many," the post reads.

Manager Frank Bilotta also confirmed the tragic news to USA Today.

Meanwhile, Dow's son, Christopher, spoke to Fox News Digital about the manager's statement, saying that it was a sad day. Still, he comforted himself with thoughts that the late actor is now in a better place.

"He was the best Dad anyone could ask for. He was my coach, my mentor, my voice of reason, my best friend, my best man in my wedding, and my hero," he went on.

Christopher's wife also dropped powerful words about his father that proved how kind Dow was.

Tony Dow's Death Was Prematurely Announced

The confirmation came out after Dow's wife, Lauren Shulkind, gave false information to his management team. The actor was still alive under hospice care but was in his last hours when the news broke.

For what it's worth, the team released a since-deleted post on Tuesday disclosing that the actor had died. Bilotta and Renee James, who managed Dow in the past years, penned the initial statement. His wife, Lauren, also shared the news with a news outlet.

After finding out that Dow was still alive, it was noted the wife was very distraught as she believed her husband was already dead, prompting her to inform his management.

ABC reporter George Pennacchio corrected the reports through a post on Facebook.

"He's been in hospice care at their home, and based on some health issues overnight, Lauren inferred that Tony had passed away to some people close to her and the word quickly spread. Lauren admits she's been 'a little fuzzy' these days - understandable," Pennacchio reported.

Tony Dow's cause of death was due to the cancer that returned in May - a month after his 77th birthday.
