The hashtag "Prince William Affair" is trending on Twitter right now, and fans have a lot to say about it.

After all, the Duke of Cambridge was accused of cheating on his wife Kate Middleton with her closest friend, Rose Hanbury, in 2019.

The two former pals had a falling out over the infidelity charges, according to The Sun at the time.

"They used to be tight, but that is no longer the case," a source told the site.

After her husband allegedly strayed, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly withdrew her best friend from her social network.

But why is this spreading on social media despite the fact that it has not been proven true?

The famed anonymous celebration tip page's reappeared post DeuxMoi recently got a submission claiming that a British royal's "extramarital affair" is well-known among English aristocrats in London.

"I was told at a recent media party that the underlying reason for the affair was the royal's passion of pegging, something the wife is way too old-fashioned to partake in."

"The wife doesn't mind her and, in fact, enjoys her husband getting his sexual needs satisfied elsewhere, as long as things don't become too emotional, as was the case with the last woman," the tip said.

Many fans assume that the British royal is Prince William, that his wife is certainly Kate, and that the "other woman" is Rose Hanbury.

Social media erupted, with the hashtag "Prince William Affair" and "Prince of Pegging" trending quickly on Twitter.

Some fans think that the Duchess of Cambridge should've given her husband what he wanted, "then he wouldn't have cheated with other women and their weird s-x life would have been kept between them."

Another said about Prince William's alleged affair, "The only reason they don't speak openly is because of super-injunctions & the invisible contract."

A third person speculated, "Kate is in it for a crown not love. Like Prince Charles told #PrincessDiana all princes of Wales have mistress #princewilliamaffair she knows and puts up with it. Carole Middleton pushed both daughters into money."

However, others really didn't mock him for his extramarital affairs and his likes in bed, because what they care is using sister-in-law Meghan Markle as an alleged distraction from their lives being talked about.

A Twitter user said, "It's the sanctimonious hypocrisy paired w/the way they tried to use Meghan as a human shield that makes me right now GLEEFUL WITH SCHADENFREUDE."
