'The Wendy Williams Show' Producers Contributed To Host's Downfall? The Truth!
Wendy Williams' ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, had some harsh words for the "Wendy Williams Show" producers.
He informed Page Six that the producers would not sign off on Wendy receiving treatment for her drug rehabilitation.
Debmar-Mercury, according to Kevin, did not want to do anything that would pull her ex-wife away from the purple chair.
The 50-year-old also claimed that their family attended an intervention with the producers during which he and the group discussed ways to aid Wendy in her drinking fight.
"They sat in a conference with her entire family, including her now-deceased mother, and refused to sign off on recovery activities that would've helped Wendy get well, survive, and be sober as well." They basically said, 'You're going to lose the show if you don't stop drinking.'"
The intervention occurred a month and a half before Kevin's love kid with Sharina Hudson and after Wendy Williams worked full-time on her show while living in a sober house, according to the site.
However, an individual familiar with the show informed the newspaper that Wendy was not fully recovered when she left the institution.
"It's reasonable to assume that when she got out of the sober house before [divorcing Hunter], she still wasn't capable of making all the decisions," they said.
"She wasn't capable at the time, but she was concealing it."

Wendy Williams struggled with drug and alcohol addiction throughout her career. She remained clean for a while before relapsing in late 2018 or early 2019.
She took a two-month vacation during that period, claiming it was to manage her Graves' disease.
In 2019, she disclosed that only her ex-husband and her parents were aware of it.
"When I conclude my appointments... My sober coach drives me back to my home in the tri-state, where I live with several stinky lads who have become my family."
However, after her return, sources told the magazine that Kevin Hunter may have been the primary reason she entered the sober-living home.
An insider noted at the time that nobody believed Wendy should live in a sober house since she appeared "frail" and "weak."
Her spouse, on the other hand, was alleged to have had total authority over her throughout their marriage.
Wendy Williams filed for divorce from Kevin Hunter after finding out that she was having an affair while they were still married and fathered another child with the mistress.
