Angelina Jolie Underwent Plastic Surgery? Expert Weighs In
Angelina Jolie has been sparking plastic surgery rumors in the past years, but an expert recently weighed in to explain whether or not she truly got cosmetic work done.
Hollywood boasts a number of actors and actresses whose faces are among the most beautiful ones around the globe. Even Jolie became a definition of effortless beauty since she debuted as an actress.
Some of her fans, however, alleged that she enhancements on her face - including lip fillers and nose enhancement (rhinoplasty).
While the "Maleficent" star never addressed it, a plastic surgeon explained whether or not he thought the actress did something on her face.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, New Jersey and New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Steve Fallek said that Jolie indeed underwent enhancements - but those were not extreme.
"Definitely her lips. Her lower face has always been very strong, so I don't think she's had any work done there. I suspect Botox around the eye area to increase her eye look but nothing surgical," the surgeon said.
Dr. Fallek's comments came after a source revealed to Star magazine that Jolie's skin started to look sag. With that, she reportedly undergoes an $8,000 worth of mini facelift before starting a project.
Angelina Jolie Only Spoke About Cosmetic Surgery For Her Breasts
Amid the talks about her enhancement procedures, Brad Pitt's ex-wife once revealed that she underwent cosmetic surgery for her breasts.
However, she disclosed that it was not to enhance them but to prevent the risk of developing breast cancer.
She announced the news in an op-ed for The New York Times (via CNN) in 2013, divulging that she received a preventive double mastectomy after discovering that she had a mutation of the BRCA1 gene. Patients with the mutation have a higher risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
"My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman," she said. "Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much as I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."
Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died due to ovarian cancer in 2007 at the age of 56. The actress was 37 years old at that time.
