Angelina Jolie 'Feels Honored' For Daughter Zahara's Acceptance in Spelman College
Angelina Jolie reveals that her daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt will be joining Spelman College in Fall as she gets accepted into the school.
On her Instagram account, she posted a photo of her 17-year-old adopted daughter along other Spelman attendees with a caption:
"Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl."
Historically Black Women's College Spelman was established in 1881 and is located in Atlanta, Georgia and the oldest private HBCU liberal arts college for women in the United States.
Jolie and Pitt welcomed their first adopted child, Zahara when they brought her home in 2005 when she was just 6 months old.
As a mother-daughter tandem, Zahara and Jolie traveled together to Washington, D.C. last year to support a Violence Against Women Act along with the advocates and politicians.
"Honored to visit Washington, DC, with Zahara, working with advocates and lawmakers to modernize and strengthen the #ViolenceAgainstWomenAct to include protections for children's health and safety, communities of color, tribes, LGBTQ survivors, rural areas, and all survivors," Jolie wrote in an Instagram caption.
She also shares her views about reforms including judicial training and trauma-informed court processes which minimize the risk of harm to children should be one of the must-have programs in the country. Adding that there should be grant programs for technology to detect bruising across all skin tones and create non-biased forensic evidence collection, and protections for the most vulnerable.
In talking about her children, in an interview she appeared on, she said that her children are great people thinking that all of her children have had a significant effect on each other.
Jolie has five other children, Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14, with Pitt.
Meanwhile, the actress also shares how happy she is with her daughters. She also recalls how proud she was when Zahara and one of her other daughters writes an essay on International Women's Day in 2020.
The actress, as she continue on praising her daughters, also admires the dedication that her "girls" are giving especially in putting each other's first. And in their softest days, Jolie said that she witnessed how brave her children are in facing their fears.
