Despite being one of DC's original superheroes, fans were shocked after Michael Keaton made a surprising confession about the comic giant in a recent interview.

Speaking to Variety, the actor revealed that he had never seen any superhero movie from DC or Marvel despite playing Batman decades ago.

"I know people don't believe this, that I've never seen an entire version of any of those movies - any Marvel movie, any other," he said. (via People Magazine)

He clarified that his statement isn't because he's "highbrow," but rather, he has no time to watch anything at all.

"It's just that there's very little things I watch. I start watching something, and think it is great and I watch three episodes, but I have other s*** to do!"

This isn't the first time Keaton opened up about not watching a single superhero film as he previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he's not sure he'd ever seen an entire comic book movie.

The reason behind it is that he never got around to it.

"They'll be doing Marvel movies forever. I'll be dead, and they'll still be doing Marvel movies," he added.

Keaton is set to reprise his role of Bruce Wayne in the upcoming film "The Flash" more than three decades later.

Speaking about wearing his iconic Batsuit again, the actor said he's curious about what would it feel like after years.

He teased fans about the movie, saying the "whole thing is gigantic" because they have their individual work, and looking from a perspective of an outsider, he said "Holy moly!"

Keaton added that his character in the movie hasn't changed since 1992.

He also credited Richard Donner and Christopher Reeves for spearheading superhero movies, but he believed that Tim Burton was the one "who changed everything."

The 70-year-old actor isn't new to superhero movies as he also starred as the Vulture in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in 2017 alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, and many more.

He noted that he was drawn to the project because of its screenwriter Christina Hodson, popularly known for her work in "Birds of Prey."

"The writing was actually really good! So I thought, why not? It's cool to drop in and I'm curious to see if I can pull it off," he added. (via The Direct)

His upcoming movie "The Flash" will hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
