Hoda Kotb Confesses Fear of Getting Fired From 'Today' Because of Savannah Guthrie Amid Feud Rumors
Is Hoda Kotb's alleged feud with Savannah Guthrie as old as it appears?
In recent weeks, it has been widely reportedthat the two co-anchors of "Today" can't tolerate each other off-screen due to claims of a backstage dispute.
Hoda previously revealed that she was concerned about maintaining her calm during a commercial break since her co-anchor was apparently in hysterics.
"I live in terror of getting fired in a moment because she's like 'Hoda, zip it,' and they [the producers] are like 'Three, two one,' and she's cool!" the 57-year-old "Kathie Lee & Hoda" star confessed to Good Housekeeping in March.
Hoda also stated that Savannah is "secretly, terrible fun."
Savannah is "very straightforward," according to the American journalist-turned-author, when she asks her questions about parenting.
Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb have co-hosted the popular NBC morning program for five years, but whispers of their feud surfaced just recently.
An individual with knowledge of the show's production told The Sun that the former "Jeopardy!" guest host believes she is the boss, especially after Matt Lauer was ousted.
"Savannah seized control, and she really wanted Willy Geist to play Hoda, but his ratings were just not up to the network's standards."
Meanwhile, Savannah allegedly assumed she had been outmaneuvered by Hoda and had won the slot.
Savannah, according to the insider, believes she is the "true news person" between the two of them, while her co-anchor is a "lightweight."
However, it appears that viewers of the show are on Team Hoda, as many have called for Savannah Guthrie's dismissal from "Today."
During a recent episode of the show, fans witnessed Savannah rushing their guest Biju Thomas as he demonstrated how to create Indian food at home, according to The Sun.
As Savannah seemed to physically force Biju on to the next level, the chef began to spoon in Basmati rice, stating, "I'm pushing you farther down the line. I understand that time is of the essence."
They then proceeded to the grilling station, where Savannah continued to exhibit anger by putting objects into the skillet to hurry things up.
Fans have complained about Savannah Guthrie often talking over her fellow "Today" co-hosts, and many have threatened to boycott the show because they are sick of hearing and seeing her.
Some viewers claimed they would rather watch "Good Morning America" than "Today."
