Eddie Deezen's Mental Health Status Prevents Him to Stand Trial, But Is He 'Faking' It?
"Grease" actor Eddie Deezen is reportedly "not competent" to stand trial following the assault case in MaryLand as experts say.
Previously, Deezen was arrested for allegedly trespassing a nursing facility and refusing to leave the premises. According to the Maryland State Police, he was charged with "fourth-degree" burglary, trespassing (2 counts) and disturbing the peace (one count).
The cop says that the actor entered the facility last year and when he was told to leave Deezen resisted, which led to his arrest.
Meanwhile, following the incident, the court announced that the trial will be postponed until Deezen proves that he is able to stand trial.
In the report, the "commitment order" is stating that Deezen, who is accused and arrested for burglary and trespassing is "not" able to be questioned in court because of his "mental health" concerns.
It also said that the actor is considered a "danger" to people around him and to himself as well resulting in an order of transfer to the Department of Health of Maryland wherein he will receive treatment for his condition until he gets better.
Prior to the "trespassing" incident, Deezen was arrested due to his disturbing behavior in a LaVale restaurant last 2021 where he acted violently inside the premises. In the statement of the Department of Allegany County Sheriff, the actor was asked to leave but he refused to.
In the report, Deezen threw items and food to the sheriff and was yelling loudly, muddling the customers inside. Later on he was pulled out of the place for the sake of the people inside the said restaurant.
And if he is faking his behavior to prevent him to stand trial, for sure the medical experts will be the one to know first and he will face another charge for that.
As for now, he is in the care of a mental institution and let's hope that next time, he will be competent enough to face trial.
