'Outlander' star Caitríona Balfe Shares an Emotional Statement Following the Death of Her Father
Outlander star Caitriona Balfe shares an emotional statement after the passing of her father, Jim Balfe.
In an Instagram post, the actress announced that her father died last August 2, 2022.
She described her father as a "mountain man," big in stature and personality." Noting that the presence of her father had a big impact in her life.
"He was loved by so many and will be missed by us all. Thank you to all our neighbours and friends for their kindness and thoughtfulness over this past week. I feel grateful to have been lucky enough to be able to call him dad."
It comes after the death of Mr. Balfe, who is a retired sergeant based in Scotstown for 2 decades, died in Mater Hospital in Belfast. Cause of death is still unknown but it is believed that it was sudden.
"Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne, children Deirdre, Kevin, Anne-Marie, Caitriona, Francis, Lorraine & David, daughters-in-law Catherine & Cathy, sons-in-law Paul, Shaun & Tony, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends," the notice reads.
Tributes have been pouring in for Jim Balfe, the father of actress Caitriona Balfe, who has been described as "great, dignified, caring, and highly respected and regarded man."
People are saying that her father was an outstanding AGS, there are some who shared the times that they worked with the late retired Sgt. Balfe.
One of the comments said that Mr. Balfe was a kind of man who always helped people in need, no matter what aspects in life, may it be births, marriages, deaths, funerals and all as long he can help, he will definitely help.
On the Instagram account of the actress, people are sending their condolences and sharing some memories with her father.
His kindness and greatness are still alive in the memories and hearts of the people that were inspired by him and motivated by his actions as public servants and as a family man.
And it is no wonder why her daughter reminisced about past memories with her dad as she went through the process of mourning and healing.
As a child, she experienced the genuine love of her parents to her as she grew up and even how famous Caitriona became, they said that she will always be their "little scamp."
