Taika Waititi, Rita Ora Wedding: Couple Share Secret to a Lowkey Hollywood Relationship
A year after the "Thor: Love and Thunder" director and singer-songwriter first sparked romance rumors, the couple finally ties the knot in an intimate ceremony.
As for their wedding ceremony, The Sun reported that "It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are".
A source described the details of their engagement, "They didn't do a whole, 'Will you marry me?' thing and an Instagram post. There's no ring or big build-up. They just got closer and closer and eventually said to each other almost simultaneously, 'I want to marry you.'"
Contrary to most Holywood couples, Taika and Rita have kept their relationship on the low since April 2021. In August, the pair finally made their official debut as a couple on the red carpet "Suicide Squad 2" premiere and another joint appearance during the premiere of Marvel's "Eternals" in October.
"I felt like I got a lot of attention at the #Eternals premiere last night. Maybe it was my date (it was definitely my date), or maybe it was this sick @thombrowne suit (it was my date)... I guess no one will ever know." Taika captioned on his Instagram post.

Despite their adorable displays of affection driving fans crazy, the two have remained tight-lipped about their romance up to their recent wedding day. When asked about her blooming relationship in September 2021, Rita told Vogue, "I'm in a great place in my life. That's all I'm going to say about that."
The couple has always been subtle with showing their romance, but occasionally, there are moments that they steal the spotlight. During the 2021 MTV EMAs, the pair had heads turning at Taika's smitten gesture of snapping photos of Rita with his phone and DSLR camera, and even taking the time to hold dramatically hold up her gown's long, feathered train.
"I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick," The director commented. "And also, 'Is it that big a deal?' No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It's fine."
The "Let you love me" singer will reportedly change her name to Rita Ora-Waititi. As for her new husband, Lucasfilm Ltd. recently announced that they were developing a new, Star Wars film with Waititi as the director.
