Olivia Newton-John's Health Declined Before Death; Niece Describes 'Skinny & Unwell' Actress
Olivia Newton-John was "skinny and unwell" during the days leading to her death.
Newton-John's death shocked fans as it was officially announced by her husband, John Easterling, on Monday. He revealed that the actress/singer passed away peacefully at her ranch in Southern California.
Olivia Newton-John's cause of death was not disclosed. But she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2017 which also metastasized to the sacrum.
Days after the news broke, her niece, Totti Goldsmith, opened up about the actress's tragic last days.
Per OK! Magazine, the family was not shocked after the 73-year-old star's death since they knew how sick she was especially in her last five days.
"I couldn't get to America in time, and I wanted to say goodbye. I asked [her husband John] if he could hold the phone up to her ear ... But he got me on FaceTime so I managed to see her. "I told her all the things I needed to say. She was leaving us ... but I feel like she got it," Goldsmith told A Current Affair.
The niece also shared the conversation he had with her amid her cancer battle.
Recalling how skinny and unwell Newton-John looked, he asked her if she was afraid of dying. The actress, in return, said that she wasn't since she already did more in her life than she could ever imagine.
In the end, she suffered from great pain since her cancer made her weaker than ever.

Newton-John's husband disclosed the news this week, asking everyone to donate in her memory to the ONJ Foundation instead.
"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer," he added. "Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continue with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer."

It marked her third battle against the disease following two bouts of breast cancer in the 1990s and 2017.
Newton-John completed photon radiation therapy on top of natural wellness therapies following her consultation at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
She launched her foundation in pursuit of sponsoring global research into plant medicine for cancer. The singer also inspired everyone as the independent charity aims to realize a world beyond the dreaded illness.
