'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' Under Fire For Recreating Johnny Depp VS Amber Heard Trial
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" earned criticisms following an episode that explored Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's trial.
Several news outlets, including ET Canada, shared set photos taken during the series' filming in New York City. It can be seen that Mariska Hargitay's character, Det. Olivia Benson, exits a courtroom alongside Julia Goldani Telles.
Another photo shows supporters holdings signs like "I Stand With Austin" and "Team Austin," which means they are in favor of the character's ex-boyfriend. Others still support Kelsey by holding Team Kelsey signages.
Following the emergence of the photos, RadarOnline noted that several fans were not impressed by it that they asked the producers to pull the episode from the series season.
One said. "Law and Order SVU should not be making an episode on the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial. Abuse is real and making Depp out to be a victim which they will more than likely or pull a both sides this is dangerous. @lawandordertv Please don't do this."
The Latest on Amber Heard, Johnny Depp Battle
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" referenced the trial months after it ended.
Still, their battle is yet to reach its end as Heard filed a countersuit as she asked the court to toss the defamation trial verdict. She argued that it should be declared as a mistrial since one of the jurors did not match the list of jury panel list's information that was sent before the trial began.
The filing claimed that Juror 15 was born in 1970. However, the summons was actually for someone of the same last name born in 1945. They alleged that Juror 15 and the supposed juror live in the same address - one a 77-year-old and another a 52-year-old.

"Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022 and therefore was not part of the jury panel and could not have properly served on the jury at this trial. Therefore, a mistrial should be declared and a new trial ordered," Heard's team said. "As the Court no doubt agrees, it is deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a case such as this."
Meanwhile, their 6,000 pages of pre-trial documents, obtained by The Daily Beast, unveiled more shocking accusations about the estranged couple.
It remains unknown when they will meet in the court again.
