Millie Bobby Brown Breaks Her Silence After TikTok Star 'Groomed' Her
The 'Stranger Things' star opens up about an "unhealthy situation" from her past during her involvement with Tiktok star Hunter "Echo" Ecimovic.
Echo, who was 20 years old at that time, sparked outrage a year ago after going live on Instagram and making sexual comments about his brief relationship with Millie Bobby Brown, who was only 16 years old then, and admits that he "groomed" her. The age of consent in California where the now 21-year-old Tiktok star is 18.
Hunter even claimed that he had the approval of Brown's parents on their relationship, saying: "I was living at Millie's house for eight months. How the f*** is that a lawsuit. I thought her mum and dad knew about everything."
"I felt very vulnerable," she recalled. "Also, no one on the set knew I was going through this. So it was kind of nice to be able to just deal with that myself and no one else knew. Then it was harder when the whole world knew."
She, later on, confirms her history with Hunter and added: "Ultimately, all I wanted to do within my career is help young girls and young people out there know that I, too, go through things. I'm not this perfect person that is selling skin-care products and [who is] in Stranger Things. I absolutely have made wrong decisions."
Is The Tiktok Star Getting Sued?
Immediately following the scandal, Brown's team responded to the allegations against the "Stranger Things" star, telling E-news that Echo's comments were "irresponsible, offensive and hateful," and that they were "taking action to ensure that he stops this behavior once and for all."
It is unknown whether Brown's team has already taken any legal action, but the actress herself did not comment on the issue, that is until now. The "Enola Holmes" actress detailed that she felt "so out of control and powerless," when rumors about their alleged relationship broke out.
Healed and Now In A Better Place
During the time Hunter went live on Instagram, Millie noted that she had already moved on and was in a new relationship with Jake Bongiovi, son of singer Bon Jovi, and was in the process of healing.
"It felt like my life had finally turned a page and that I actually had ended a chapter that felt so f--king long." The actress recalls.
It seems like things are looking serious for Millie and Jake for the past year, even going "red carpet official" during the 2022 BAFTAs. The pair have been publicly dating and posting photos of their happy relationship on Instagram.
The 18-year-old actress will be back soon in the upcoming "Enola Holmes 2" this 2022. She will also be starring in a new Netflix film from the Russo brothers, called "The Electric State."
