Fans questioned Warner Bros. decision to cancel "Batgirl" instead of "The Flash" despite the issues surrounding the latter's main star, Ezra Miller.

Warner Bros. sparked outrage after its confirmed HBO Max movie, "Batgirl," was postponed despite completing the production earlier this year. According to The Wrap, the $90 million film was already scrapped after going through COVID-19 issues and shutdowns.

Still, the public could not believe that the Leslie Grace-led movie would not be pushed through while Miller's "The Flash" would still be aired.

As for the reason behind it, PR expert Juda Engelmayer explained that - unlike "Batgirl" - "The Flash" is just too big to fail.

In an interview with Newsweek, the HeraldPR president said that "The Flash" plays a huge role in the development of the DCEU's future.

"Warner Bros. Discovery will watch and see how the [legal] cases pan out and look to their belief on what social and public sentiment might be. They have too much invested here, not just the cash, but DC Extended Universe [DCEU] storylines and future programs based on the outcome and success of The Flash," the expert said.

Engelmayer added that Miller's legal troubles are reportedly considered as a "pattern of behavior" which A-list stars faced before.

He compared Miller's issues with the ones faced by Robert Downey Jr., Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan, and Winona Ryder, to name a few.

Fans should still have some hope, as people like Miller and other celebrities work hard to overcome it sometimes.

DC, Warner Bros Have Backup Plans

The PR expert also disclosed that the company has plans if "The Flash" fails to make it to the big screens.

"Warner Bros. and Miller's PR team have been watching, like we all have, trying to be careful and not make any hasty decisions. My guess is that because the alleged criminal activity isn't of a sexual or physical assault nature, or worse, they feel they've already invested a lot and the film is still good," he went on.

Miller's legal battle started when they showed concerning behavior several times.

One of which caused their first arrest this year. The Hawaii Police Department confirmed in a news release that the they were charged with harassment and disorderly conduct. The charges were due to the two separate incidents at a karaoke bar in March.

Weeks later, Hawaii News Now divulged that "The Flash" actor threw a chair at a woman, causing an injury to her forehead.
