Michelle Branch was arrested on Thursday at around 2 AM for allegedly slapping her ex-husband due to "cheating" issues.

In the report of TMZ, there was a call about domestic violence in their home in which Branch admitted that she slapped her estranged husband in the face.

It comes after Branch announced that the two are choosing different paths and calling their relationship off after 3 years of marriage.

The split happened because of the alleged cheating of Carney on the singer saying that she was devastated.

"To say that I am totally devastated doesn't even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family," Branch said.

She also said that she needs to figure out how to move forward adding that she asks for privacy and kindness in this trying times.

The news split of the couples came after Branch tweeted, a now deleted post about the alleged cheating of her husband.

As for the assault case, there are no evident injuries that Carney got from the slap of his ex but Branch was still taken into custody and her bail was set at $1,000. She was released eventually from the custody of the police since she is still breastfeeding her 6 month old baby.

Carney is the second husband of Branch after previously married to Teddy Landau in 2004 and divorced in 2015. Later on, the singer married carney in April 2019 in a ceremony held in New Orleans.

They share two little children which includes a 6 month-old daughter whom she needs to breastfeed.

It seems like Branch is still not filing for divorce as of this writing but maybe she will file it soon based on her reactions toward "cheating" allegations.

Carney and Branch met at a Grammy's party in 2015 which they easily clicked and got together. The couple's first child was born in 2018 and now they have a half-a-year baby.

Branch also shares a daughter with her ex husband Teddy Landau which was born in 2005.

Meanwhile, it is not the first time for Carney to have experienced a break up as he had experienced separation with his first wife Denise Grollmus which they split in an essay in "Salon in 2011" titled, , "Snapshots From a Rock 'n' Roll Marriage."
