Teddy Ray Cause of Death Horrifying: Comedian, 32, Found Dead in Pool [REPORT]
Teddy Ray, a rising comedian, was found dead two weeks after celebrating his 32nd birthday.
The comedy and entertainment world were left shocked after news about Ray's passing emerged. Multiple news outlets, per Comedy Central, reported that the comedian was found lifeless in the pool of a private residence in Rancho Mirage, California.
"Teddy Ray was a hilarious and beloved performer. He'll be deeply missed by the entire comedy community," Comedy Central said, per Deadline.
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson divulged more details to E! News, saying that its deputies responded to a call informing them about an unresponsive man. Unfortunately, they found the man dead upon arrival, who was later identified as Ray.
Teddy Ray's cause of death is yet to be publicized as the incident remains under investigation, per the coroner's office. However, a news outlet assumed that he died from an apparent drowning since he was found floating in the swimming pool.
It was also noted that there were no signs of foul play.
Ray's passing happened as a shock since the comedian faced his death only weeks after his birthday. He managed to share his last Instagram post on July 30 to mark the special day.
Following the announcement about the comedian's death, his colleagues and fans took their time to pay tributes to him and remember his contributions to the industry.
Issa Rae shared a photo of him on her Instagram Story alongside a white heart emoji.
Rae's Hoorae also posted a message on its Twitter page, saying, "Rest in Power to our longtime creative collaborator and friend, Teddy Ray. Grateful for the energy you always brought to our projects and sets!"
Teddy Ray's Life and Career
The Los Angeles-born comedian first rose to prominence as a performer when he began working at the Improv and the Laugh Factory, among others. Ray then got featured in internet comedy series like All Def Digital.
Due to his hilarious tirades during his shows, he already earned 200,000 followers across his platforms.
On June 23, he performed at the "The Young OGs Comedy Show" held at the HaHa Comedy Club in Los Angeles.
Aside from being a comedian, Ray also served as the writer and actor of the comedy series "How To Be Broke." He appeared in its six episodes as well.
He made his other appearances in "Cancel Court" and "Pause With Sam Jay."
