Wendy Williams Desperately Asks 'Loyal' A-List Friends To Do THIS For Her
Wendy Williams has recently approached her celebrity and famous friends to ask for one big favor.
"The Wendy Williams Show" was canceled in June after Wendy had not hosted it for over a year, and Sherri, who has stepped in temporarily for her show, has also stated repeatedly that her new show will be more "kind" to guests than her predecessor's.
Wendy hosted her show for 14 years, beginning with the first broadcast in 2008.
Since then, "The Wendy Williams Show" has amassed a devoted following, making it one of the most successful and profitable syndicated talk programs in history.
However, it stopped after 13 seasons and over 1,500 episodes, with Wendy not even making a last appearance on her program despite having a big fan base.
Wendy Williams' Favor Among Her Friends
According to a source who spoke to The Sun, the 58-year-old former radio DJ petitioned her pals, who ranged from reality TV stars to movie stars, not to attend or promote Sherri Shepherd's new program once it premiered.
Nick Cannon had already shown his support for Wendy following the cancellation of his program.
Nick also stated that he would not support Wendy's opponent "out of devotion" to her, and that no one else should either.
But, even if he has already lost "The Nick Cannon Show," does the MTV host's backing matter?
Wendy has apparently spoken with a couple "Real Housewives" stars, but "no one is going to turn Sherri down," according to a source.
"Wendy has been phoning her pals and telling them not to go on the Sherri program or promote it."
"She's also ringing all her 'Real Housewives' pals." Wendy believes she has this loyalty, but at the end of the day, no one will turn Sherri down."
Sherri Shepherd Gets Ready for Her Show
Meanwhile, a source close to Sherri Shepherd has revealed that her team is already preparing for the "Sherri" premiere and has been working at the New York City studio since early this week.
Wendy Williams was replaced by the 55-year-old following a string of odd behavior and health issues.
Sherri cast shade on the contentious host weeks before her debut, going out of her way to assure viewers that her attitude will be entirely different, more upbeat than Wendy's.
"I'm all about posiitve energy," she told the Daily Mail. "I'm all about happiness. I believe in kindness and humor. Anyone who knows me would tell you the same."
