Will Smith's Reputation Ruined Beyond Repair by Oscar Slap, Q Scores Reveal?
Will Smith's popularity is now declining as his "Q Score" drops following the "Oscar Slap" incident.
It's been months since the world was shocked by the news about Smith and Chris Rock's moment on stage wherein "Men in Black" actor slapped the comedian after making a joke out of Smith wife's illness.
In the data revealed by "Q Scores," it can be seen that his score dropped by 15 percent with Henry Schafer, who is the executive vice president of Q Scores interpreted as "very significant and precipitous decline."
More so, the negative rating of the "Pursuit of Happyness" star increased from eight in January to 26 in July 2022, it's a big increase within a year.
On the other hand, it seems like Smith is not the only one who is getting negative responses from the people after the incident. Jada Pinkette Smith also has a massive decline in her "Q Score."
Although Jada has already a low positive score in January with just 13 percent, the actress' score still drops to 8 percent by the month of July. At the same time, within six months, her negative rating reached 44 percent from 29 percent in January 2022.
As to Rock's "Q Score," it can be seen in the graph that the "Oscar Slap" incident has helped him to maintain his score in positive and negative ratings from the people.
It comes after the infamous "Oscar Slap" in the 94th Academy Awards ceremony which banned Smith from attending for the next 10 years.
Smith slapped Rock across the face after the comedian made a joke about the actor's wife, Jada.
Jada revealed that in 2018, she was diagnosed with alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss in which maybe for her husband it's off to use someone else's illness over a joke.
As seen in the video, Smith walked up the stairs and went to the stage and slapped Rock and said to keep his wife's name out of his " f------ mouth!"
Enstarz reported Smith's sending his apology to Rock in the video he posted in his Youtube, Smith admitted that he was fogged out by that point and it's all fuzzy but he said that he tried to reach out with Chris but the "message that came back is that he is not ready to talk."
But Rock has promised him that when he is ready, he will reach out to Smith.
After answering the first question, Smith apologized to Rock as if he was really talking to the latter.
He even sends his apology to Rock's mother and his family for the pain he caused.
He also shared how the incident affected him and his life, saying that he spent 3 months replaying and understanding the nuances and the complexities of "what happened in that moment."
Smith admitted that his behavior was inappropriate, "there is no part of me that thinks that is the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults."
Meanwhile, there are people who are tweeting their sentiments over "canceling" Smith following the "Slap" incident saying that while he agrees that what Smith did was deplorable he still thinks that he shouldn't be canceled.
Another tweet said that he still can't believe that people are canceling Smith and Rock painted as a completely "innocent person" instead of someone who "mocked a disorder."
