Tony-nominated actor Bob LuPone, Patti LuPone's brother, died at the age of 76.

The Hollywood Reporter quoted a statement from Matt Ross Public Relations, confirming LuPone's death on Saturday. It revealed that the actor, who led the Broadway company for four decades, "lived fearlessly" while dealing with a dreaded illness.

The same statement disclosed that Bob LuPone's cause of death was due to pancreatic cancer - the same time of cancer that also killed notable stars like Alan Rickman and Alex Trebek.

"The MCC Theater community mourns the loss of our much loved and uniquely inspiring partner, colleague, and dear friend, Bob LuPone, who lived fearlessly and with great curiosity, good humor, a boundless passion for connection, and a whole lot of heart," the Matt Ross Public Relations said.

It also expressed how much the members would miss the actor after giving over half of his life serving the off-Broadway company.

Bernie Telsey and Will Cantler of MCC Theater also divulged the news through a letter on Saturday. Per Telsey and Cantler, LuPone gave a massive contribution and inspired everyone in the company. They added that he launched a "sense of community" within the group.

His unmatched contributions led fans to pen heartfelt statements to him to honor his life.

Bob LuPone's Productive Life and Career

Before landing in the spotlight, LuPone started his career in 1966 through the Westbury Music Fair's production of "The Pajama Game." He only waited for two years before officially making his Broadway debut in the 1968 production of "Sweet Potato."

The project led him to land more appearances in "The Magic Show," "The Rothschilds," and "Minnie's Boys."

But out of the things he worked on, his role in Michael Bennett's "A Chorus Line" caused him to score a best-featured actor Tony nomination.

When he launched the MCC Theater, LuPone released several hit shows like "Wit," "The Other Place," "The Snow Geese," "Frozen," "Reasons to be Pretty," and "Hand to God."

Meanwhile, LuPone received a Daytime Emmy nomination for his "All My Children" appearance.

Before his death, he added several titles under his belt, including "Sex and the City," "Law & Order," "All My Children," and "The Affair." He was survived by his wife, son, sister, and brother.

No details about LuPone's funeral have been publicized yet.
