Chris Rock Drops Insenstive Joke About Nicole Brown Simpson Murder: 'He Deserves Will Smith's Slap!'
Chris Rock shooed away his supporters after dropping another insensitive joke.
The public was divided after Will Smith slapped Rock at the Oscars after the comedian joked about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair. Some sided with Smith as they found the "G.I. Jane 2" joke below the belt; others said Rock did not deserve to be slapped because he did not know about Jada's condition.
However, most people now said that Rock deserved it due to his recent "joke" about Nicole Brown Simpson's murder.
Arizona Central (via Sky News) revealed that during his stand-up show in Phoenix, Arizona, Rock joked about the Oscars incident, adding that he was asked to return as Oscars host next year. However, he reportedly turned it down.
According to Rock, returning to the award ceremony would feel like he returned to the scene of a crime.
Unexpectedly, he referenced Nicole Brown Simpson's murder in his joke, enraging the public. The 57-year-old said that the invitation was like asking Brown to go back to the restaurant after being murdered.
As a result, Smith earned more supporters as people condemned Rock's words and actions.
One said, "So Chris Rock is out there mocking a murdered mother of two. Sydney & Justin loved their Mum, but this bloke thinks it's okay to joke about her this way. Another woman serving as foils for #ChrisRock's "jokes". Dear #WillSmith, all is forgiven."
Even photojournalist Gregory Anderson said that Fred Goldman, Ron Goldman's father, should gain the honor to slap Rock for the joke. Ron died alongside Nicole decades ago.
Rock has not responded to the criticisms yet.
Nicole Brown Simpson's Death
Rock's referenced happened decades ago.
In 1994, Brown and her family went at a restaurant where Goldman worked as a waiter. The staff went to her home after the family dinner to return her mother's glasses.
However, Goldman never came back alive again as he and Brown were stabbed to death during the wee hours of that night.
At that time, Simpson was in the area but booked a flight to Chicago immediately. He refused to surrender to the police and continuously drove his Ford Bronco with his friend, Al Cowlings.
After the chase, Simpson was found guilty and received corresponding sentences - but he never served his prison time for the crime.
