Anne Heche's Son Makes Shocking Move Weeks After Her Tragic Death
Anne Heche's son appears to be taking matters into his own hands.
Homer Laffoon, the actress's 20-year-old son with ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, recently petitioned a judge to place him in control of his mother's estate after she died without a will.
He asked a Los Angeles County court to hear his case after Anne Heche died "intestate" earlier this week.
Homer's recently filed request also said that he is the actress's only adult heir, with his 13-year-old brother Atlas Tupper, whom Anne shared with ex-boyfriend James Tupper, serving as their second heir.
According to court records acquired by The Blast, Homer has no idea how much money or property his mother left behind when she died on August 12, because both personal property and yearly income were written as "unknown."
After Anne Heche was left brain dead and died after slamming his automobile into a Los Angeles apartment building, Anne's eldest son also wanted to be Atlas' legal guardian.
"The estate consists of two (2) intestate heirs - Homer Heche Laffoon and Atlas Heche Tupper," according to Homer's petition. "Homer Heche Laffoon, the prospective Administrator, is an adult. Atlas Heche Tupper is a minor."
"Filed concurrently with this petition is a Petition for Appointment of Guardian ad Litem for the child, which explicitly demands that the guardian ad litem be granted the ability to waive bail on behalf of the minor," they said.
Anne Heche died on August 12, a week after colliding with a house in her Mini Cooper on August 5.
The 53-year-old actress' car subsequently caught fire, and she was alleged to have been trapped inside for an hour before being rescued.
Her death was considered an accident, and Anne Heche cause of death was due to "inhalation and thermal injuries," including a "sternal fracture owing to blunt force trauma."
Anne Heche Net Worth Before Death
According to several accounts, Anne Heche, who was not only an actor but also a director, writer, and producer, has a net worth of $4 million after appearing in over 80 films.
In 1998, she worked on "Ally McBeal," "Everwood," and even the adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's film "Psycho."
Anne Heche also famously dated Ellen DeGeneres before the latter tied the knot to Portia Di Rossi.
