"Aquaman" fans still cannot accept Amber Heard as Mera amid the actress's legal issues with Johnny Depp.

When Depp lost everything he had because of Heard, his fans also threatened to boycott every single project Heard would make. This also includes the billion-dollar franchise, "Aquaman."

While she was already confirmed to join the upcoming "Aquaman 2," the public continues to urge Warner Bros to hail Emilia Clarke as the new Mera instead.

Most recently, fans have been uploading photoshopped images of Clarke, showing that she would be a better fit than Heard. In addition, having her reunite with her "Game of Thrones" co-star, Jason Momoa, excited everyone.

The rumors became more prominent due to photos showing that she would appear in "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom."

A fanart by Diego de Sousa also highlighted Clarke's beauty if she would wear Mera's costume.

In addition, the petition "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" already surpassed 4 million. The page, created by Jeanne Larson, is addressed to SVP of Publicity & Communications for DC Warner Bros Courtney Simmons, DC Entertainment Corporate Communications' Paul McGuire, and DC Warner Bros.

"As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project. They must not ignore the suffering of Heard's victims, and must not glamorize a domestic abuser," the petition says.

Emilia Clarke As Mera

It was not the first time Clarke was ever linked to the franchise.

As early as 2020, people have been suggesting having the actress play the female lead in "Aquaman." Digital artist with Instagram username "valentinromeroart," uploaded a fan art showing Clarke sporting red hair under a golden crown while wearing the green scale suit.

There is also a separate petition, "Emilia Clarke to replace Amber Heard as Mera on Aquaman 2," that has been circulating since that year.

Aside from Clarke, Emily Blunt was also named as a potential replacement. A source told We Got This Covered said that the actress caught the eyes of the Warner Bros. executives. She was reportedly tapped to become Marvel Studio's first Black Widow before the company cast Scarlet Johansson.

However, Heard still has the role as she, herself, confirmed her appearance in the sequel.
