What Olivia Wilde Did NOT Say About The Florence Pugh Feud Rumors on 'Don't Worry Darling' Set
"Don't Worry, Darling" had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and the entire cast was present - except for Florence Pugh who didn't make it to the press conference.
Before the premiere, director Olivia Wilde held a press conference to clarify the air and respond to allegations of a conflict with her starring actress.
It's question and answer time, and she was questioned about rumours that she had a falling out with Pugh.
However, the "Little Women" star left the press conference and photocall due to filming commitments for "Dune 2," but she will be joining Wilde and her leading man, Harry Styles, on the red carpet for the premiere on Monday night.
Pugh was then seen leaving the press conference and arriving at Venice airport.
Page Six reported in July that Pugh was upset that the director was hooking up with the "As It Was" hitmaker while they were filming their movie, while Wilde was still in a 10-year relationship with Jason Sudeikis.
Rumors grew even stronger after Wilde recommended Pugh have a "wake-up call" in a leaked video of the director pleading with alleged leading man Shia LaBeouf to continue on the project.
The video was revealed shortly after LaBeouf rejected the "Book Smart" director's allegation that he had been sacked from "Don't Worry Darling," with the 38-year-old pushing the struggling actor to remain on with the project rather than leave it, while also implying that difficulties with Pugh existed.
At Monday's press conference, per Variety, Olivia Wilde was questioned about the reports. A journalist asked, "Can you just clear the air and address whether there has been a falling out there and if so, why because it's something that people are discussing?"
Unfortunately, Wilde played it down but did not respond directly to the question.

Instead, she answered, "Florence is a force and we are so grateful that she is able to make it tonight despite being in production on Dune."
Harry Styles' girlfriend said, "I know as a director how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day, so I'm very grateful to her and Denis Villeneuve for helping us - we're thrilled we'll get to celebrate her work tonight."
Wilde went on to say how she couldn't be honored to have the 28-year-old British actress become the movie's lead because she had been "amazing" in the film.
As for the rumors about the feud, Wilde clapped back at the "endless tabloid gossip and all the noise there" and how she doesn't "feel the need to contribute; I think it's sufficiently well nourished."
A reporter for the Hollywood Reporter also tried to ask Wilde about her public falling out with LaBeouf, but she refused to answer the question.
