Justin Bieber Investigated for Nightclub Fight Over Claims of Instigating Hamptons Brawl
Pop singer Justin Bieber is under police investigation regarding claims that he told his bodyguards to physically assault a man outside a South Pointe, Southhampton club early Sunday morning, according to New York Post.
Wayne Rennalls, 22, was injured in an altercation with Bieber's bodyguards that reportedly started over a waitress and an bow tie. He suffered a black eye, a busted lip and bruised ribs. He filed an assault claim the next day and another male clubgoer was also knocked out in the incident. Southampton Police Sgt. Todd Spencer told Page Six, "That would be part of the investigation, whether Bieber directed [his bodyguards] or not."
A source told the publication the fight "was all over a little white H&M bow tie."
"One of the bottle girls liked it, so Wayne let her put it on. Justin was flashing all these girls with his flashlight. The girl with the bow tie went over to Justin and Wayne followed because he wanted his tie back," the insider explained. "Then Bieber's people got in his face... It escalated outside when we heard Bieber yelling and talking [bleep]. He was screaming in Wayne's direction, 'Punk b--ch!' "
Rennalis thought somebody threw something at him and he picked up a small rock and threw it toward the 19-year-old singer, the source added. Rennalis also allegedly heard someone yell "You done [bleep]ed up now." Bieber jumped out the sunroof of his car and slid down the car like he was in Die Hard, the source said. Bieber wanted to fight and his bodyguards surrounded Rennalis, who was "getting punched from all angles."
The altercation took place in the club's parking lot. Rennalis was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center at noon on Sunday for the injuries he suffered and later filed a complaint alleging assault, according to E! Online.
Footage of the incident shows the teen star leaping out of a SUV's sunroof as his bodyguards appear to be engaging in a physical confrontation, however, the Bieber is never seen making any physical contact with any other clubgoer, Daily Mail reported.
A rep for Bieber said the singer was not involved in the incident. Multiple witnesses told Yahoo's OMG! that Bieber did not "go nuts" inside the venue and that Justin was "extremely well-mannered in the club."
