Emmy Awards 2022 Highlights: Complete List of Winners + Biggest Shockers
Emmys 2022 was as expected, fierce and historic, and the results did not disappoint. It cannot be denied though that the awards show this year also has its fair share of shockers.
"Succession," the HBO drama about the dysfunctional Roy family's struggle for corporate supremacy, had the most nominations of any show this year -- 25 in all. It brought home some of the biggest awards too. The show won the award for best drama series, and Matthew Macfadyen won the award for best supporting actor.
Following closely behind "Succession" with 20 nominations apiece were the Apple TV+ comedy "Ted Lasso" and HBO's limited-series satire "The White Lotus," which both won numerous awards.
"Lasso" won for best comedy series, while "The White Lotus" won for best limited series, best supporting actress (Jennifer Coolidge) and actor (Murray Bartlett) for a limited series.
On the comedy front, "Abbott Elementary" faced off against veteran series "Lasso," "Hacks," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

The show's creator Quinta Brunson, who made Emmys history as the first Black woman to receive three nominations in comedy categories in the same year, won best writing for a comedy series.
HBO struck gold among the 25 honors awarded at Monday's presentation, winning 12 Emmys. Apple TV+ won four prizes, Netflix received three, and Hulu and ABC each took home two.

"Barry" Win None
As said, the Awards show got a lot of things right, but still shocked quite many.
Due of Lasso's dominance, Barry did not win in any single category . This is certainly a shocker! Barry is reportedly one of the most intricate, dark, and sophisticated programs of the past decade, fresh off a season that rivals anything produced.
Jimmy Kimmel Insults Quinta Brunson?
As presenters of best writing in a comedy series, Will Arnett dragged a seemingly passed-out Jimmy Kimmel onto the stage, joking that this is the "13th time in a row that he's lost and he just got into the skinny margaritas backstage."
When Brunson took the stage to accept her first-ever Emmy for her ABC series Abbott Elementary, Kimmel remained onstage.
Brunson said, "Jimmy, wake up. Kimmel gave her a thumbs-up but remained lying on the platform throughout Brunson's speech, and Arnett had to drag him back off just when Brunson was through.
Brunson, for her part, added the late-night host's name to the end of her list of thank-yous, suggesting that she was amused by the gag.
Brunson addressed the incident onstage, stating that it "didn't affect me that much" but that she did not know how Internet people may have reacted. She explained that Kimmel supplied her with her first significant late-night appearance and had previously informed her that Abbott Elementary is one of television's greatest comedies.
Clearly, not all of the ceremony's viewers liked Kimmel's presence during Brunson's emotional address, with a number of social media users pointing out that it did not appear to be a respectful choice to remain on stage.
