'Don’t Worry Darling’: Harry Styles’ Mom Calls Out Movie Haters After Actor Gets Laughed at Online
Since the release of "Don't Worry Darling," many online users have been criticizing Harry Styles for his acting debut and some of them even laughed at him. Today, the actor's mom is speaking out to defend his son over the bad reviews he's been receiving.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Anne Twist shared a message to the critics of the former One Direction member, saying if haters can't say something nice, it's better not to say anything at all.
"I'm astounded and saddened by the vitriolic comments on here to be honest. I enjoyed a film. If it's not your cup of tea don't go," she added. (vai People Magazine)
Twist concluded her short statement, asking people to not follow her account if they don't like her.
Styles' mother had already seen the film in Paris, France, as shared on the social media platform. Twist posted a series of photos of herself along with some pals outside a cinema. She also posed in front of the film's poster featuring Florence Pugh.
In the caption, Styles' mom commended director Olivia Wilde and her team, as well as her son for "being a fabulous Jack," saying she's proud of him.
Harry Styles Gets Laughed At Amid 'Don't Worry Darling's Release
After the film was released, a fan-shot video of the movie at a cinema went viral on Twitter, showing moviegoers laughing at Harry Styles' acting skills.
According to Newsweek, many critics have been giving mixed reviews over "Don't Worry Darling" but most positive ones are for Florence Pugh. However, in Styles' case, most comments were negative.
Other news outlets and reviews dubbed the actor as "the weak link" due to his performance.
In recent updates, the film held a Q&A event in New York City where the lead stars Florence Pugh and Chris Pine were significantly absent.
Many fans speculate about the reason why they didn't attend the event, but a video message was played before the event starts where the two offered their explanation.
Pugh said she was "working halfway around the world" while Pine was in Los Angeles working on a production.
The "Midsommar" actress is currently working on the set of "Dune: Part 2" in Budapest, while Pine is filming an undisclosed movie.
