Queen Elizabeth II Cause of Death: Extracts of Death Certificate Revealed
The cause of death for Queen Elizabeth II has now been announced.
On September 8, about 12:35 p.m. UK time, Buckingham Palace issued a statement stating that the 96-year-old queen was under medical monitoring after physicians grew worried about her health.
The 96-year-old died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at 3:10 PM UK time on the same day, more than three hours before the public was told.
Queen Elizabeth II died of "old age," according to the death certificate provided by the National Records of Scotland, per the Daily Mail.
It further alleged that Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, was the informant of her death.
The former monarch's occupation as "Her Majesty The Queen" on the historical record suggests that only King Charles III and Princess Anne were by her side when she died in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
When the Queen died, her two other children, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, as well as her daughter-in-law Sophie Countess of Wessex and grandson Prince William, were all in the air. At 2:39 PM UK time, the RAF Northolt took off from South Ruislip, West London. They arrived one hour later.
After Her Majesty's death, Prince Harry was unable to board the plane with his brother and had to fly to Scotland on a jet from Luton.
The Duke of Sussex arrived in Aberdeen at 6:46 p.m. UK time, 16 minutes after Buckingham Palace announced the formal arrival.
The certifying licensed medical practitioner is Douglas James Allan Glass, a General Physician from Aboyne Highlands, around 20 miles from Balmoral.
The only cause of death recorded for Queen Elizabeth II was "old age," with no additional circumstances contributing. It is the precise cause of death listed on the death certificate of her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
On September 16, 2022, the Queen's death was registered in Aberdeenshire.
