Netflix's 'Dahmer' Crew Speaks Out on Alleged 'Mistreatment' on Set: 'I Was Treated Horribly'
"Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" crew member Kim Alsup breaks her silence on mistreatment during her time on the set of the Netflix show.
Netflix recently premiered a limited series about the infamous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, titled "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" on September 21. Co-created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the series follows the murder cases of infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
Since its premiere, the biographical crime drama show has been the subject of controversial headlines due to online backlash.
'Dahmer' Crew Members Racist?
However, the show proves even more problematic as one of the production assistants, Kim Alsup, spoke out on the mistreatment she experienced while working on the "Dahmer" series. In a now-private tweet, Alsup reveals that, as one of the only two people of color on set, she was often mistaken as the other colleague.
"I worked on this project and I was 1 of 2 Black people on the crew and they kept calling me her name," Alsup wrote in her now-private tweet. "We both had braids. She was dark skin and 5'10. I'm 5'5. Working on this took everything I had as I was treated horribly. I look at the Black female lead differently now too."

Netflix Series Induced PTSD To Crew
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kim Alsup expressed that she may have developed PTSD from the biographical crime drama trailer and that Alsup there were no mental health coordinators on set despite the disturbing theme of the series.
"I don't want to have these PTSD types of situations," she told the "The trailer itself gave me PTSD, which is why I ended up writing that tweet and I didn't think that anybody was going to read."
Alsup also revealed that she did not expect her tweet to garner attention on the internet. Additionally, as a person of color, Alsup called the Netflix series "one of the worst shows" she has ever worked on.
"Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" stars Evan Peters as the infamous convicted serial killer, known for violently murdering 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991. Despite the issues, the series still proved a hit success with a whopping count of 196.2 million viewers during its first week.
