Coolio was scheduled to headline his first Las Vegas residency but he passed away suddenly last week at the age of 59.

While many are already devastated by his sudden death, this little tidbit breaks the heart of many even more.

On September 28, in Los Angeles, the hip-hop artist best known for his 1995 hit "Gangsta's Paradise" died of a suspected heart attack.

According to Daily Mail UK, the rapper - born Artis Leon Ivey Jr. - was actually already in talks with ongoing Sin City residency Boombox!, to commence at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Per TMZ, Jimmy Maynes - who is chief creative officer of production business Fan Rebellion who produces the residency revealed that they were in deep negotiations with Coolio before his tragic death. Boombox! focuses in old-school hip-hop acts from the 1980s and 90s as they have booked famous stars like Salt N Pepa, CeeLo Green, and Tone Loc.

Maynes claimed that the intention was to have Coolio headline the show starting the end of October through the second week of November for a total of 10 days with one performance each day at 5 days a week for a total of ten shows.

Additionally, he told the outlet that when the residency resumes, they will integrate a Coolio homage into the show, like they did with Biz Markie earlier.

In the three weeks preceding his death, Coolio played at seven sold-out performances and was even scheduled to continue his "I Love The 90s Tour" until November.

Four days prior to his passing, Coolio published his farewell Instagram post, which chronicled his final performance on Saturday, where he sang the 1999 hit "Gangsta's Paradise" to the delight of his adoring fans. Coolio was seen dancing across the platform and standing on railings during his final performance at The Roundup Music Venue in Boerne, Texas, where he once again impressed audiences with his high-energy performance.

Hours after the gig, he published his last ever Instagram post, which featured a montage of highlights from his fantastic performance, where he showed off his rapping talents and was supported by a live band while crowds could be seen dancing along.

Coolio, who had a net worth of $1.5million at the time of his death, had also spent the preceding weeks touring over America in the midst of his sell-out tour, which saw him take to the stage at seven gigs in three weeks. In addition to touring around Europe and the United States during the summer, he also performed at the ERA Music Festival in Florida as part of his anticipated tour, which was scheduled to run until November.

In his final weeks, Coolio performed at the 24th Street Stage in Virginia Beach on September 4, followed by performances at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in South Dakota and The Caverns in Tennessee.

He subsequently flew around Texas where he pleased fans with a succession of gigs, including at The Backyard Bar Stage Grill on September 16 and The Barn At Frio Grill on September 23.

Coolio's friends believe his "severe asthma" may have contributed to his death. Friends said that the rapper had a lung condition for many years, although he did not show this to his fans.
