Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's $14M Montecito Mansion Being Compared To Fort Knox
Just two years after purchasing their $14 million Montecito estate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are contemplating another property.
Could it be because the house is like Fort Knox?
When delivering flowers to the property, a neighbor told Expressthat she saw a "military" attitude in the securityaround the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's residence.
Lynn, who has lived in California for decades after relocating from Scotland, claimed the floral delivery was addressed to "Miss M."
She detailed the whole incident, claiming that security directed her to proceed to the next gate and that they were supposedly watching her on video the entire time.
"It's like Fort Knox up there," Her employee Marcello Ross said.
The florist recalled not being able to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's residence from the front gates, which were also well guarded.
She claimed that other males with buzz cuts appeared to have just returned from the military.
Lynn believes they were all armed.
"They have the entire thing. It is completely safe."
Lynn added that she would want to go out and finish up her flowers before giving them, but she had no idea who it was for.
"All that security, though, it was so silly!" Lynn commented of the whole situation. "As if I was going to assault or blow up the building or something. So stupid!"
According to Forbes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's security expense might range between $2 million and $3 million per year.
Montecito is one of the most exclusive addresses for the wealthy and famous. Some A-list celebrities own properties, including Ariana Grande, Orlando Bloom, Gwyneth Paltrow, and John Travolta.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering abandoning their Montecito house and transferring to another area, according to reports earlier this month.
According to the Sun, the proposed shift comes at a time when Montecito is suffering an uptick in property crime.
According to many sources, the couple has been shopping for or may have already acquired a new house in Hope Ranch, which is located in Santa Barbara County and roughly a 20-minute drive from Montecito.
It is also a private neighborhood featuring a country club and golf club for members only. Tennis courts, picnic areas, and 25 miles of horse paths are also available.
