Jeffrey Dahmer's Victim Tracy Edwards SUFFERING Despite Escaping Death, Lawyer Says
Jeffrey Dahmer almost made Tracy Edwards face death as he did to the 17 victims he killed, dismembered, and ate.
Netflix's "DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" explores the lives of Dahmer and the 17 men and teens he killed. The killing occurred from 1978 to 1991, and he was not charged with their deaths not until Edwards escaped from him and told the world what was happening inside his apartment.
Although he survived the terrifying event, Edwards has been living his whole life in fear due to the trauma he sustained because of the incident.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Edwards' defense attorney, Paul Ksicinski, revealed that his client told him he would not be the same after his near-death experience in 1991.
"Way back when the case was going on, I analogized it to the old Humpty Dumpy rhyme where he sat on the wall and was pushed over with this and could never get his pieces back together again. He just can't. It was too traumatic," the lawyer said.
Edwards is still having nightmares 20 years after that horrifying night.
In the Netflix series episode 1, Edwards' story is immediately presented as the beginning of the serial killer's end. Dahmer, played by Evan Peters, picks him up (played by Shaun J. Brown) in a local gay bar.
The killer then invites him to his apartment to take pictures of him and watch "The Exorcist III" together. After watching it, Dahmer gives him a drink that has been spiked with drugs.
When he resists drinking all of it, Dahmer puts handcuffs on one of his wrists before the killer moves him to his bedroom to watch the movie he reportedly watches every day.
Tracy Edwards' Biggest Trauma Rooted From THIS
Like the series depicted, Dahmer truly told Edwards he would kill him while listening to his heart. The killer also told Edwards he would eat his organ.
Ksicinski then said it was the most traumatic part of that experience, sharing how someone could never get over it after hearing such terrifying words.
Edwards managed to escape and reported the serial killer to the police, leading to his arrest. FOX6 WakeUp broadcasted the first-ever news report about Dahmer on Jul. 23, 1991 and disclosed the horrifying stories the victims had to go through.
