‘And Just Like That’ S2 New Character: Che Diaz’s Backstory to Be Tackled Next Season?
Many fans have been waiting for the second season of "And Just Like That..." and even though there is no confirmed release date yet, viewers could have an idea of what will happen in the second season of the show as revealed by recent reports.
According to Deadline, Tony Danza will be joining the cast of the famed "Sex And The City" spin-off show to star as Che Diaz's father.
Sara Ramirez, who plays the role of the famed non-binary podcaster and comedian on the series, will reportedly be shown in the pilot episode of the second season as the last episode's finale features them and their love interest Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) flying to Los Angeles for a project.
"Tony Danza is coming in to read for my father. He's not Mexican or Irish but he is Tony Danza," they revealed.
The actor, who uses "they/them" pronouns, is excited as the production thinks they're the new "Roseanne" but "the good one from the '80s."
As of this writing, there are no full details regarding Danza's character. No official release date has been announced yet.
'And Just Like That...' Season 2 In The Works
Last month, lead star Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the role of Carrie Bradshaw, teased fans by sharing a photo of her script on her official Instagram, showing the title and a text that reads "Episode 201."
The bottom part of the paper was erased with purple doodle ink seemingly to prevent spoilers.
On the other hand, Ramirez spoke to Variety to share a little teaser on what fans could expect from their character in the upcoming season.
"The first season was judging a book by its cover, and season 2 is about reading the book," they explained.
Their character, Che Diaz, was introduced in the first season as Carrie Bradshaw's podcast co-host and boss. They also became Miranda's love interest, making her separate from her husband Steve, played by David Eigenberg.
Showrunner Michael Patrick King spoke to the outlet about the character, saying Che Diaz would be one of his "burning passions" throughout the next season because he wanted to show their dimension that the public never got the chance to see as many of them were "blinded" because of fear.
"I want to show more of Che rather than less of Che. Like, really," he added.
