Jeffrey Dahmer Halloween Costumes Should Be 'Stored Inside Closet'; Simon Biles DISAPPROVES Latest Trend
Simone Biles joined the long list of celebrities who mocked people dressing up as Jeffrey Dahmer for Halloween.
The upcoming Halloween this year, unfortunately, might be about Dahmer as people opt to dress up like him to mark the special occasion. Aside from Dahmer-inspired costumes, replicas of his gold eyeglasses and short blonde wig are also being sold online.
The hype happened after Netflix released its true crime drama, "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" which is based on the serial killer's story.
Simone Biles became the latest celebrity to call out those people who want to dress up like the serial killer on Halloween.
On Twitter, she expressed her dismay toward those who idolize Dahmer, writing, "im just gon go head and say it, put the jeffrey dahmer costumes back in the closet. we ain't having it!!!!!!"
Amid the public's outbursts, eBay confirmed to BuzzFeed that it has since banned the sale of those costumes due to a breach of its policy on violence and violent criminals.
Among the costumes include an orange jumpsuit with a mask and glasses which Evan Peters wore to play Dahmer's character.
The sale has been disrespectful toward the families of Dahmer's 17 victims, especially since it added more trauma after Netflix released the series.
Dahmer infamously killed, dismembered, and ate 17 men from 1978 to 1991. The 17 victims were Steven Hicks, Steven Tuomi, Jamie Doxtator, Richard Guerrero, Anthony Sears, Ricky Beeks, Eddie Smith, Ernest Miller, David Thomas, Curtis Straughter, Errol Lindsey, Anthony Hughes, Konerak Sinthasomphone, Matt Turner, Jeremiah Weinberger, Oliver Lacy, and Joseph Bredehoft.
Mother of Jeffrey Dahmer's Victim Says Costumes Are Triggering
Following the emergence of the costumes and the series, a mother of Dahmer's victim expressed her rage to a news outlet (via Marca) and said that the moves have been retraumatizing to them.
"It hurts for Netflix and all the online stores to profit off her son's death, while none of the victims' families have seen a dime. She feels all the eBay ads should be taken down ... or at the very least, give the profits to the families," she said.

She added that she still struggles with the pain as the memory of her son getting killed by Dahmer still lingers.
Despite the backlash, the Netflix series became Netflix's second-most popular show ever.
